I have a limited amount of data allotment each month, and I'm trying to stop the autoplay part of the websites with autoplay videos on them.

I tried the add on "FlashBlock", and it worked good for stopping the auto play, but it also blocked saving files to my USB (stick) flash drive.

I'd like to stop the auto play, but I would also like to save files to my stick.

Help!

Windows 10 home.

What kind of file saving are you referring to?

Do you mean that you can't specify/open such an USB stick in the file picker?

You should be able to save any files to a specific disk drive, whether it be a locally installed drive or a removable drive. Note that Shockwave Flash has nothing to do with a flash drive despite the similar looking name.

See if Flash Control works better for that. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-control/

Greetings cor-el

I have a flash drive (usb 3 I think), and I'm trying to use it to store backup files of photos, videos, music . . .

Basically I'm trying to copy from Windows 10 File Explorer to the flash drive. And at first it worked fine. But now it's gone a bit wacky.

I copy from File Explorer, and paste to the flash drive. And I get a screen / bar graph, that says copying files, and they show up on the flash drive, but disappear when I exit the drive.

I've tried right clicking on the flash drive in windows explorer, and then clicking on eject. And after that I receive a message that says it's ok to remove the drive.

And I've also tried shutting down the computer with the Flash drive in place.

But each time when I put the drive back in, the files disappear.

Or in other words, files seem to copy to the Flash drive fine, but disappear when I remove the drive.

It would be better to ask advice at a Windows oriented forum about this issue as this doesn't look like a Firefox issue.

That sounds right cor-el. Applause for helping me figure this out.
