I get the "Profile can not be found. It may be missing or inaccessible" error, but the profile exists in the correct place.

When I try to open firefox, my bookmarks and frequently visited sites are gone. I get the "Profile can not be found. It may be missing or inaccessible" error, but the profile exists and is in the correct place. In addition, Firefox will not retain a visible history in the Library window. The troubleshooting information says that the "Places Database" can not verify integrity.

Does Microsoft still support Windows Security Essentials? I thought for Windows 10 it was Windows Defender. If you have it left over from an earlier version of Windows, you might double-check on that.

Either way, it seems odd to me that Microsoft's more basic products would touch a SQLite database. Unless it is scanning it for some reason. Perhaps you can just exclude the whole Profiles folder from scanning. Any downloads would be to the Temp folder or Downloads, so those would still be scanned.
