Somehow my "last modified" bookmarks got set to one single date. Can I get back the actual dates that I saved m? This was how I organized my lesson plans! Help!

I am not sure how this happened. I did some things to try to clean up my computer. But I need to be able to sort my bookmarks by the date that I saved them. So I relied on being able to sort the "Last modified" column. Now all of my bookmarks show one date and time under "last modified": 1/2/2017 at 6:02 or 6:03 pm. Can I get those original dates back?

The only way to restore these dates would be to restore a JSON backup from the bookmarkbackups folder.

  • Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup Restore

Note that you will lose bookmarks that are created later that that backup has been created.

The name of a JSON bookmarks backup file includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once.

  • bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash>.jsonlz4.

If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync while performing maintenance/repair efforts to files in the Firefox profile folder or reorganize your bookmarks.
