I'm getting a habitual script error...

Whenever I visit a page that is heavy with photos or videos, I get this script error which often causes my browser to hang for minutes:

Script: resource://gre/modules/XPCOMUtils.jsm:327

On top of that, my Flash plug-in seems to crash on nearly every other video when I'm watching my Youtube subscriptions. In the past, I've done the whole uninstall and reinstall thing. Because of all the problems, I don't turn on a plug-in until I absolutely need it, so it's not any of the plug-ins causing havoc with another.

Anyone else having these problems?

I would suggest the following two steps (appologies if already done)

1. Check your plug-ins

Have you checked your plug-ins lately? Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the Mozilla Plugin Check site.

Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions. If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow Update button or a red Update now button, please update these immediately.

2. Run Firefox in Safe Mode

Given the extensions you have you should try the Safe Mode. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)

You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut. Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running. Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

Again, it's not the plug-ins. I checked all of them (even though I only ever use three on any regular basis); they are all up to date. And, again, I'm not currently running any of the plug-ins. I only turn them on as needed.

I'm still having this problem, even with FireFox 25. Whenever I have a page that loads, say, 50 or more photos on a forum post, it basically freezes for dozens of minutes. Literally. It used to be that it just took awhile for the photos to load, and maybe my browser would slow down, but I could still use my browser on other tabs.

But, Firefox has gotten progressively worse when it comes to loading lots of images or videos. I either get a script error and/or my browser becomes completely unresponsive for minutes on end until the loading is done.
