Cookie stops working when closing another tab

It's simple: I've got Two tabs open One with a login form (e.g. Gmail login screen) And another (anything, e.g. New empty Tab)

On my personal computer, my (both) Gmail logins and passwords have been saved (it's a cookie, I think). Normal behavior is, when I type the first letter in the login field (e.g. 'b' for 'bobbyTest'), the auto-completed login name pops up. When I click the popped up name, both login and password fields are filled in and I can click 'Log In'.

The problem is when, before typing the first 'b' letter, I close the other tab (with the little x button) After this, typing 'b' in the login does not pop up anything.

It's been the same since FF 3.X as I can remember (I simply downloaded and installed FF, no customizations), I have FireBug plugin installed

Hello xzajox, excellent observation !

i check it and it happens to me also not only with gmail login but and with yahoo login !!

it doesn't happen when you reload the page !

can any other confirm that, probably a bug ?

thank you

Try to click outside the input field to temporarily remove the focus and click again in the input filed to see if that helps.

True, after removing the focus, the autocomplete works again. But it's two more clicks and I am so lazy :)

Try Tab and Shift+Tab.

The same. Removing focus this "TAB" way helps. But still too anti-lazy.

If you don't intend to fix this micro-bug, it's okay with me. Just let me know and I stop bothering :)
