Calendar files

Something changed at some point in time with the calendar file. When I started using Thunderbird I was able to set up entries in the calendar file and give them names and an associated colour. I can't seem to do that any longer. Eg. I set up entries for Birthdays which showed on the calendar as purple and Anniversaries where green. I can't do that anymore. Was that ability removed at some time?

Another situation I came across was importing .ics files. The method changed and now you have to open a file. What it does is ask where you want to put the contents, ie as an Event or a Task. I tell it where I want it put . But when I check the entry it shows as the .ics file and not as an Event or Task. Then I have a terrible time trying to remove it. Nothing happens when I tell the program that the Event/Task is completed. HELP!

What are you doing with ics files? If they arrive as an attachment to an email Thunderbird will offer button appropriate for whatever action the content suggests.

I suggest you enable the menu bar (I assume it is not visible) by right clicking on the toolbar and selecting menu bar from the menu. Then use the tools menu to import your ICS files.
