Cannot print 2 pages, first page is cutoff

I wanted to print out an order placed online but could only print part of it.

The order took up about 1.5 pages when displayed in Firefox, but I could only print the upper 2/3 of it. That’s all the Print Preview displayed. It was cut off at the bottom. There was no option to print the missing lower third or a second page.

I can scroll Firefox to display the lower part but Print Preview still shows only the upper part.

I can change FF’s scale to 80% in order to show the whole order on the screen, but Print Preview still only shows the upper part.

I can scale Print Preview to 70%, but then it’s difficult to read.

I don’t recall having this problem with earlier versions of Firefox.

How can I print my order on 2 pages so that I can read it?

I didn't provide a print out because I'd have to redact a lot of it. But here's what Print Preview looks like.

Below Customer Information is name, address, payment, shipping, etc. But I can't print any of that. As you can see Print Preview is showing page 1 of 1. Normally this would show page 1 of 2.

That's the problem, there is no 1 of 2, or 2 of 2 showing. The site is Gerber Faucets. gerberparts.com

When I'm on their website looking up stuff the Print Preview will show 1 of 4 or 1 of 7. But when I want to print out a copy of my whole order it's not possible.

I have no idea if a site format is doing that. I never heard of that & don't recall ever having a problem like this.

Actually I did have something similar happen where Firefox did not print the right edge of web pages that were in landscape mode. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1369473

I never had either of these problems until the Print Preview was removed from the drop down menu a few versions ago. Either I was lucky or whoever redesigned FF really messed it up.

This could be a very old problem: there are certain style rules which Firefox handles fine on the screen -- a continuous medium -- but considers unbreakable for paginated media. In that case, Firefox fits as much as possible on one page and throws away the rest. Last year there was a push to clean up and fix many of those cases, but I still see them from time to time.

Sometimes if you select the critical parts, right-click > Print Selection, that can work around the problem if it only affects an outer container. But... sadly... that doesn't always work either.

I wrote an add-on with various scripts to lightly hack pages to try to work around the most common problems, but I find that it still misses things. The Print Edit WE extension has a "fix page breaks" tool that might work better, but I don't use it myself, so I'm not sure.

I noticed on the Gerber check-out page, it seems impossible to get the cart contents list into the preview without flipping the page to mobile mode (narrow the window to where it switches to a one-column layout) or "hacking" the page's style rules. So annoying.

Thanks for looking into this -

I was hoping there would be some setting in about:config that would fix the problem.

Not sure what I did in this particular case, but sometimes I’ll use “Ctrl -” to shrink the webpage, or “F11” to view full screen, adjust to get what I want, then do a Screen Print or use the Snipping Tool to capture the image.

Sometimes pasting the image into a word processing document works, especially when using the Snipping Tool because you can snip exactly what is needed.

When doing a Screen Print I copy the image into Photoshop Elements in order to crop the image, and then print it.

I’ll check out the links you provided.

Thanks again.

Do they have example order printout that can be used and attempted to print. That would be the only other way since to get to the page you posted one has to make a order to get that far and print to see what happens.

If you put several items in your cart, click the cart and click Check Out, you'll normally see the items on the right. They don't print in that layout. However, if you narrow the window to change the zoom until the layout switches to mobile mode, then you can click a link to show the items in the main column.

Thanks for providing the above information.
