I upgraded the latest firefox, but now I can't open it on my computer b/c my OS system is too old. I tried to download an older version, but I can't seem to make it work. Am I without firefox now? :(

Firefox 49.0 and later requires OSX 10.9 or later now. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-osx

You can use Firefox 45.0 ESR To still have security update for a few more releases. https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/

I have OS X Version 10.7.5

How can I get the older firefox that will run on this?

As I said you can use Firefox 45.0 ESR in order to use Firefox and still get security updates for a few more Releases. The link is in post.

Firefox 48.0.2 was the last Release to run on 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 however it is behind on security fixes and vulnerable.

I have a laptop running Vista x64 with all available updates, which can't be upgraded to Windows 7 without losing all drivers.

The latest Firefox won't install. Is there a 64-bit version of Firefox which will install/run under Vista x64? What is the last version which will run under Vista?

64 bit Firefox versions require Windows 7 and later. You can install Firefox 52 ESR on your Windows Vista computer.

Thanks. I'm investigating Waterfox x64 as a potential alternative (Firefox code base with some mods). So far Waterfox v47 installs and updates to v52.0.1, update v53 breaks under Vista x64. Like Mozilla, Vista support is ending, even for Waterfox. I still really like this particular laptop, and yes, I own much more capable machines, but display and keyboard on the older machine can't be matched by newer offerings.

Hi craigarno, Mozilla is supporting Vista users with 32-bit Firefox 52 Extended Support Release (ESR). That runs on 64-bit Windows (most users of 64-bit Windows are running 32-bit builds of Firefox).

More info: Firefox has ended support for Windows XP and Vista.

Do really need the additional memory 64-bit browsers can access?

The issue isn't memory, it's performance.

Embedded video on the Vista laptop runs at 2-3 frames/sec in 32-bit Firefox browser, 17 frames/second in the 64-bit Waterfox browser under Vista x64.

Firefox x64 requires Windows 7 or higher. Firefox x64 won't install under Vista x64.

If the issue were just memory, then yes, I'd stick with the 32-bit browser. But it's hard to go anywhere on the internet these days and not run into video content, especially on training/educational sites.
