Even though I have the mozilla maintenance service installed, I always check my version by going to help/about firefox, the last 3 updates it has said that it was up to date, but when I then go to check my plugins, up comes a page that says I am using an older version of firefox and a link to get the update.

Thinking there was a problem, I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, which meant I had to start at version 43 and work up, so got to version 48.02 and same thing happened, checked tools/about firefox, says up to date, go to plug in page check to see if plugins are up to date and was told that I was using an older version of firefox, so I clicked link to download version 49, downloaded and installed.

So am up to date right now,

mozilla maintenance service is set at automatic.

firefox is my default browser

OS: xpsp3

Any assistance will be appreciated. Thank You.

EDIT: changes made, were to disable pocket, hello and multistage rollout.

For Firefox 49, it's understandable because it was just released yesterday and the server only notifies a certain percentage of users in the first couple days so in case there is a severe problem, it doesn't affect everyone all it once. Sounds as though at least yours is working fine otherwise.

Okay, will not worry about it, I have 3 other xp's at my shop so I will check those on saturday to see if they changed all by themselves. :)

thanks, will mark this question answered., if the other pc's update themselves, will let you know on saturday.

Updates were disabled (as usualafter a new major release) as of Sept 21 and will be enable 100% on Friday if things are stable. Though I saw a comment that updates were only disabled on Windows and Mac/Linux users can still get updates in Firefox.

The other 3 xp pc's updated by themselves, :)

Thanks for all assistance.
