hello monktonmerchant, this error is probably caused by the "Avast Online Security" extension that you have installed. try to keep it disabled for a while and see if the problem is still occurring...

Thanks to philipp: I disabled the avast addon (from) when I updated to avast 9.0.2008, and the unresponsive script has stopped freezing firefox during google searches.

PS, I added this addon in it's place, Trustwave SecureBrowsing: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/m86security-secure-browsing/eula/224305?src=search It's not too bad, and seems to be more thorough than the avast addon.

I also use the web of trust (WOT) addon.

My google searches use to freeze or lag, only in google, so i disabled avast in the extensions, and it's does not lag now!

Does this mean im not protected now in my Firefox? and is there a a fix from avast, etc?
