Firefox 21 applying weird kerning to Typekit font DIN

Recently noticed with FF 21 that there is some weird letter-spacing issues happening with one of my Typekit fonts on a production website. Nothing has changed with the codebase/implementation of the web font on my site, however FF 21 seems to be doing some weird things to the font.

The font affected is DIN Condensed Web from Typekit.

It is rendering correctly in all other browsers I've tested on my Mac (Opera, Chrome, Safari, etc).

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Chosen solution

Issue appeared to have been related to Typekit. We contacted their support to report the issue... and then I also re-published my Kit. The misbehaving font seems to be working properly again. Not sure if this was fixed through an action from TypeKit support staff, or simply from the republishing of the kit.

There is an update for FireFox it is now 22. Try updating to FireFox 22 it could fix your problem.

I updated to FF 22. My problem still persists. Still have weird kerning on this web font - which never had issues in the past. Not solved... but thanks for the reply!

Thanks again for the quick reply.

I tried the solutions from that thread, but it did not solve my issue.

Here is what I tried:

  1. "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
  2. Restart Firefox
  3. "Disable hardware acceleration when available"
  4. Restart Firefox

Still no luck :(
