How do I switch plugins from the default system locale language to the system language?

I have an English Windows system with English as the system language. All my software, including Firefox is in English. However, I have the default system locale set to Russian. This should not have any effect on program UI, but in Firefox it changes the language for all the plugins. How do I stop this? I want everything in English. I did not find anything related to this in about:config.

Oh, so sorry, it looks like the problem is due to the Pencil extension. Disabling it switched everything to English. It just happened to be one of the first ones I ever installed.

I'll go bother its developers instead. Thank you for your time.

Do you mean Firefox extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or really plugins (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins)?

Plugins are installed outside Firefox and may use the default language of your OS.
Firefox shouldn't be able to change the languages used by plugins.

You can check the value of the general.useragent.locale pref on the about:config page to see if that is still en-US and you can also check the order of the installed languages (Tools > Options > Content: Languages).
Those are the only language settings that you can change in Firefox.

Sorry, I do mean extensions.

The general.useragent.locale pref is set to en-US and Languages to { en-CA, en-US, en }. Hopefully, one day Firefox will use the same language for extensions as for the rest of its interface.
