When I click the subscribe to rss feed I don't get the subscribe using live bookmarks screen the tutorials shows. I get a loading message then nothing and no bookmark of any type is added and there is no live feed.

If I look at my bookmarks there are no live feed bookmarks and no category of "live feed" exists.

Thank you so much. It was as simple as that. The rss feed was set to my contact manager which was in a constant state of checking the net as a result. This solved both problems.

I am not finding the "options" option under tools on Firefox. I am trying to get live bookmarks as an option when trying to subscribe to an RSS feed. Thanks.

I'm on a mac. When I go to Preferences >Applications I do not see rss feeds in list?

It is probably labeled as "Web Feed", so you can look for that in Firefox > Preferences > Applications

You can also check the feed prefs on the about:config page and reset them if they apply to your problem.
