Suddenly getting endless warnings from Mozilla/Firefox (with McAfee-like logo) warning of major virus contamination of laptop. "Click to delete immediately" has no effect. Suggestion to run McAfee scan show 5 major problems but McAfee profile says account paid thru August and no breaches in last four years. Says too soon to renew. How can I clear the problem if there really is one? D.

Are these small popups on bottom right corner of Firefox window? if so then they may just be fake virus warnings from sites you have allowed to send you notifications from. You can revoke those sites.

I would say don't go to that site is the best way to avoid those fake notifications that could lead to malware being installed or Virus infecting your computer. Also get the site support contact and tell them about what is happening when your on that site as well.

See the link I posted https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/push-notifications-firefox#w_how-do-i-revoke-web-push-permissions-for-a-specific-site

And ignore markwarner22's post as what he is referring to is not what is happening in this case.
