Hi all,

Fully aware of [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1204859], I wonder if there is any way to force a synchronization from one specific browser to others? My scenario is as follows: I use a desktop computer for daily work. This computer is bascially the source of truth. I use literally thousands of tabs, organized w/ Sideberry and multi-accounts containers (~100) (2 profiles in parallel).

From time to time, I use a laptop when commuting or working elsewhere. I'd love to instruct the laptop to receive the latest update (like a git fetch), probably after telling the main computer to "upload" (git push) the latest information and would like to make sure the laptop never can overwrite the desktop information.

Is there any way to implement such a scenario?

Thanks!

That would require separate email Firefox accounts to do that kinda sync and to create separate if Windows OS profile so the data keep separate. If you want to keep work from personal you need to separate Firefox sync accounts with different email login and if you do work on you computer from home you need to make two separate accounts to keep them from merging or clearing the sync account from each other.

Thanks Mark for this hint. I actually do use separate synch profiles (sync accounts), but this doesn't solve my needs. B.t.w. - not using Windows 😀. The thing is I want to avoid at all cost that the laptop(s) can overwrite my stationary setup. I.e. I need full control over the sync process. Like when using git. Seems I'm too lazy setting something up based on git.

Your recommendation is independent from the sync process, but of course, it helps at least separating the profile related information! So thanks.

Sync always works both ways. Maybe only sync open tabs and no other data as synced tabs are usually accessed via a menu and not directly opened.
