there is a book icon in my URL bar and i would like to remove it. not always there but appears and disappers. most imposing for me. i understand what it is for (read view mode) but i would never use it.

how can i remove it? I have CTR addon installed as theree is no option i can see in that addon to remove it.

Did you try to disable Reader mode under the Advanced section in CTR?

You can also set reader.parse-on-load.enabled to false on the about:config page.

you are simply the best cor-el! 5 stars you.

you are correct, basic me doesnt go into advanced sections. way too scary.

i went into advance scrolled to reader

and the top checkbox was checked (so unchecked)

and bottom one was unchecked

--- on a side bar note. if FX would consider deploying with option for users like me (who like things very simple and automated) , not to deploy with default ALL these features ON. Rather default is OFF. then give me a tour. i will take the tour at my leisure. less imposing + thus more honouring.

it is fantastic things evolve.. but when your simple (aka me). you just love simple.

Thankyou Cor-el -- you truelly are brilliant! you can put your self in our shoes, us non-technical ones. So appreciated your efforts.
