Firefox automatically updating crashed system and now not only no Firefox but clicking on ex-icon I'm told it's incompatible with my version Windows (7) ???
Have Windows 7. System crashed, restarted in safe mode, Firefox note that will restart when finished updating, crashed again immediately, started again in safe mode, however opened to no Firefox icon and when I click on the ex-icon I get a note that says, "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running. Check your computer’s system to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.” When I hit 'OK' I get a Windows note, “Can’t open this item. It might have been moved, or deleted. Do you want to remove this item? Yes/No”
I have also lost saved webpages on desktop that were part of a research project. (Same ex-icon icon.) Never had this problem with previous automatic updates. (Although since previous update closing Firefox difficult.)
What's going on???? Note is gobbledygook to me. Having to use Google!
