well, my husband Kenneth was the computer whiz. He tried to show me how to do these things. He did everything to where i don't have to worry about passwords, but unfortunately he passed away. Now that I moved, I lost Charter and cannot get in to get my current email in my laptop. It is asking me to change my email address, but that would be fatal because all of my contacts knows teetah78@gmail.com as my only email address.

Please help me!

If your Thunderbird is set up to work directly with Gmail, then it shouldn't matter which service provider you use to get your email (Charter, Comcast, AT&T, etc.). Don't change your email address in Thunderbird.

If you get on the internet normally, skip over any messages in your browser about email, and then open Thunderbird, does Thunderbird give you any error messages? Please be as specific as possible.
