Lately when I right click on links and hit "open in new tab," the new tab will come up with ChristianMingle.com and the link will act as if it has not been pressed. At first it was only happening on a specific website, but now it's happening on other sites too. I already spoke to the other website, and we have pretty much ruled out that it is their site and therefore I think it's something on my end. What might cause this? How can I stop it?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
