A small portion of the screen on the left is cut off.
The firefox window is shifted a little to the left. For instance, if menu bar is enabled, half of the letter 'F' in File menu is missing. A little amount of the big circle for back navigation is missing on the left. The left end of the first tab is also missing. Resizing or restoring the window does not help. It happens only in normal mode and not in safe mode. Disabling add ons individually in normal mode does not help either.

Sounds like you have moved or enlarged your window past the edge of the screen.

Original Problem: You may have had an oversized window caused by zooming that you moved.

it does not work when I try to restore and resize the window. The extreme left part just seems to have gone off the window. The 'reset toolbars and controls' for clearing a corrupt localstore.rdf does not seem to resolve the issue. It appears alright only in safe mode. I have attached an image to show the missing region.

Going back to the first link that I provided, did you try pasting the following into the location bar and pressing "Enter". JavaScript must be active.
- javascript:top.resizeTo(screen.width*0.8,screen.height*0.8)
It was one of the extensions vshare add on 1.21 which caused this error. @dmcritchie: I tried that indeed. it just restored the screen to a smaller size but the left side of the screen was still missing a bit. Thank you both for your replies!
Sorry that script is not really good because it did not include a location on the screen, but for you use that doesn't really matter because you can drag the window to to the right and down after resizing since the title bar is present. Otherwise if the title bar was not visible you could use Alt+SpaceBar on Windows to move and resize the window.
vshare plugin was the problem for me too. My screen looked just like your screen shot.
