What am i doing wrong when documents will not attach to an email I need to send?

Items scanned to documents will not attach to emails I am trying to scan. I am so frustrated! My printer is an Epson WF-7610. Scan to documents seems to be fine. When I open and check the file, it is ok. However, when I hit the attach icon, then open the desired file, it refuses to attach. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you scan to PDF, or to TIFF, or to another format?

If it's PDF, do you have the same issue attaching other PDFs or is the problem unique to the scans?

If you have a general problem uploading PDF files, there may be a problem with the settings file that Firefox uses to store application handling (download) preferences. Since it is difficult to edit, when there is a problem, we generally suggest renaming the file and allowing Firefox to rebuild it from the Windows registry. Here's how:

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using either

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This should launch a new window listing various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit, either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "power" button
  • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename mimeTypes.rdf to mimeTypes.old (or another name of your choosing, in case you decide to roll back this experiment).

Start Firefox back up again and see whether that made any difference. If you prefer a different PDF viewer (instead of the built-in viewer), you'll also need to return to the Options page to specify your preference. (View PDF files using Firefox’s built-in viewer)

Any luck?
