Hi Snowydogs, thanks but already reported it on that side. Couldn't find a concrete solution there. As it is an issue that is clearly browser-dependent... at least to some extent... I thought to see if anyone here has any idea how to resolve the issue. The main question in my mind is: Why would the gadgets on my site work fine with Internet Explorer but fail to load (fail to even be recognized as installed) with Firefox? Surely there must be a setting inside Firefox that is preventing the js-based gadgets from loading.

• Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
• Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

• Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
• Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
• Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

• Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

• Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

• Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
• Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

After logging in to the site with Internet Explorer, the menu bar looks exactly as shown in the first uploaded image, IEmenubar.jpg (attached). There is a dropdown menu item "TW" that lists all of the gadget-Twinkle actions that may be taken. Furthermore, in Internet Explorer, when one goes to the Twinkle/preferences page, one can set all of the gadget-Twinkle options, as shown in the second uploaded image, IEsvtwinklepref.jpg.

In contrast, after logging in to the site with Firefox, the menu bar does not contain the dropdown menu item "TW" that should be there (and is there in Internet Explorer). This is shown in the third uploaded image, FFmenubar.jpg. Furthermore, in Firefox, when one goes to the Twinkle/preferences page, there are no preferences to set, because the gadget-Twinkle does not appear to be installed. This is shown in the fourth uploaded image, FFsvtwinklepref.jpg.

Regarding the various steps listed to be taken, I have tried all of that... reloading the page, clearing cookies and cache, and so on. It does not help. I have tested this on three different computers (running both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1), on one of the Windows 8.1 computers with a completely fresh installation of Firefox and Internet Explorer. The results are exactly the same.

There are, however, two wrinkles in the pattern. (1) Firefox was loading Twinkle without any problem whatsoever prior to version 38 (although neither reverting to an earlier version nor updating to version 39 resolves the issue). (2) One day, out of the blue and for no apparent reason that I can now discern, Firefox did load Twinkle a few times. At the time, I noticed that Firefox loaded the javascript slower than other browsers and assumed that Firefox might just require more time to load all of the js at the initial log-in screen. But since that day, I have not been able to replicate that workaround. No matter how long I wait at the initial log-in screen, Firefox still won't load the necessary javascript.

Do you see any error messages in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) when you try the bookmarklet with the JavaScript code assuming that is what is meant with 'run the user script'?

I don't understand why Firefox reads the site different from Internet Explorer. I was thinking/hoping that there is a setting I could change at about:config that would remedy the situation.
