When i watch a video on any website, it has color distortion and a verticle green bar over it.
When I go on Firefox (specifically), any video, whether it's an ad, or a youtube video or something else, has this vertical green bar over it and a small green bar across the bottom. The color is also extremely distorted. Colored parts of the video appear in black and white and it looks like the color that is supposed to be there, is instead offset slightly. For example green text would be black and white, and then a copy of the same text would be offset but in what seems like a random color. If any on you know how to fix this it would be very much appreciated. thanks!

You mentioned that disabling hardware acceleration didn't work - maybe your graphics drivers could be the problem :

Hello,
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.
To Refresh Firefox:
- Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
- Click the menu button , click help and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
- If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
- At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
- Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
- Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!
Thank you.
Thank you for the help. I should have tried resetting before I got all worked up about it. It was weird because I had just reset my Firefox settings... But thanks. I still wonder what the hell was up because it looked really strange...
I wonder, too, but it could've been some corrupt plugin, hard to tell.
Anyway, glad I could help, that's why I'm here.
I just opened a Youtube video and its back. Any other suggestions? I heard that disabling hardware acceleration in flash fixes similar issues, but i don't know how to do that. Do you know how i could do that or any other methods to fix this?
Okay disabling hardware acceleration didn't work so I don't know what could
Did you try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Options/Preferences -> General -> Performance
remove checkmark: [] "Use recommended performance settings"
Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
- Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
- Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
- Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
- Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.
The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
- Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
- Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
- Restart Firefox.
This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.
