You (FF) disabled 360 Total Security AV plug in with FF ESR. You say FF is now fixed, but it is still disabled. How to get it enabled. again??
I MUST keep Xp and you dudes disabled my AV plug in (360 Total Security) Your notes say FF is fixed (for 360) , but it is still disabled. Did somebody forget to fix FF ESR??? You say that you will continue to fix security issues in FF ESR, and a disabled AV plug in is sure a security issue. How do I get 360 enabled again??? The 360 Total Security version is the latest, version 9.2.0.1059. Many thanks, John

To scher2000 I think I fixed it. I uninstalled 360 totally and then reinstalled it fresh from their website. I them downloaded the FF add on from the 360 website and it installed flawlessly.
However here is the wonderful mystery of science. The add-on installed from their website is also called 360 Internet Protection but it is labeled version 5.0.0.1004 and the last updated date is July 25, 2017. (today). Perhaps that date is NOT the date they wrote the update, but maybe it is the date I installed it?
Also, the add-on that was REMOVED when I uninstalled 360 had the same name but was labeled as version 1005, so the version from their website had an older number and possibly a newer date. Hmmm., like I said, a mystery of science.
I wonder if this is one of those deals where FF somehow blocked the update when it blocked access. I wonder if I could have removed it and then reinstalled it from FF while it was blocked? I never tried that sort of thing, and it is too late now because everything works.
Incidentally, after I got it working I clicked the check for updates button on the add-on page and nothing happened. It didn't try to take me back to 1005 just because it has a higher number. , Anyway, it is working, and I was going to add a note to the comments for the plugin saying that I got it to work by removing 360 and reinstalling both 360 and the plug in form the 360 website.
Thank you VERY much for your help. You are a definite asset for FF and you are very much appreciated.
John

Mozilla has no connection to 360 Total Security, it is a add-on/Extension for Firefox and has a Developer. This their Support Page : https://www.360totalsecurity.com/help/
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Hi John, is there a statement about why the extension is disabled? I'm interested in what you find on the Add-ons page, either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then find the disabled extension on the right side -- those cluster at the bottom -- and click its More link.
Is there an explanation at the top about the problem? If it indicates that the extension is blocked, what is the version number of the extension?
If there's no explanation, does the Enable button work?
By the way, this is kind of confusing, but they have two different extensions:
- 360 Internet Protection for Firefox v 5.0.0.1009 updated February 2, 2017 using legacy technology
- 360 Internet Protection v 5.0.0.1004 updated June 16, 2017 using WebExtensions technology
If you are using the older one with the higher version number, could you try removing that and using the newer one with the lower version number?
Hi:
'Thanks for the reply. '
I tried to copy your question and post an answer below it. I used a different color font for my answers and the color got lost. I then prefaced all of my statements with "John Says:" Hopefully you can tell where your question quits and my answer starts Hi John, is there a statement about why the extension is disabled? John Says: The message on the add-ons page says it was blocked for “security or stability issues”. The message below is the message I get after following a couple links on the extension page . "360 Internet Protection versions 5.0.0.1009 and lower has been blocked for your protection.
Why was it blocked?
This add-on breaks the Firefox user interface starting with version 52.
Who is affected?
All users of Firefox 52 and above who have this add-on installed.
What does this mean?
The problematic add-on or plugin will be automatically disabled and no longer usable.
When Mozilla becomes aware of add-ons, plugins, or other third-party software that seriously compromises Firefox security, stability, or performance and meets certain criteria, the software may be blocked from general use. For more information, please read this support article.
Blocked on Jun 07, 2017. View block request."
John Says: This is the end of the response from FF
John Says: My FF is FF ESR 52.2.1 (32 bit) (i.e. up to date)
My 360 is Version 9.2.0.1059 so ACCORDING TO THE ABOVE NOTE IT SHOULD WORK (but it doesn’t)
In your other email you asked about the plugin name:
It is “360 Internet Protection 5.0.0.1005 (disabled)”
I tried to download the other plugin that you mentioned (for Firefox)
”360 Internet Protection for Firefox v 5.0.0.1009 updated February 2, 2017 using legacy technology “
and it was blocked and wouldn’t download. The explanation said it was blocked because it has “a high risk of causing stability or security problems”
I hope this helps. Thank you VERY much for your quick response.
I am new to this board and hope that my response makes sense.
Thanks, John

The above is totally not helpful and sorta ....
Nice using a Chinese AV product. Contact them here : support@360overseas.com You might have had a answer already if you had taken what I said that we do not support it. We try to help you and are volunteers so with that said some of the above was uncalled for in my opinion.
Once I saw 2 versions I said go to them. Again that is the suggested solution to your issue. Or get a new AV.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Hi: Thanks for the reply. My answers were an effort to address the questions posed by jscher2000. He seemed genuinely interested in helping me and I was trying to answer him (or her) as best I could. I used copy and paste so he/she could see what I was getting from FF. I am sorry if I pasted too much, I was just trying to answer the questions.
My problem isn't resolved yet and on your advise I posted a request to 360 and I haven't gotten a response from them. Hopefully jscher2000 will see this and respond if he/she has further ideas. Thanks John
Sorry, the email notifications are very messy. You can the Quote link below a post to quote it. You may need to use the link a few times to interlineate your comments in between, otherwise they get sucked into the quote. Someday maybe there will be an easier system... But back to the problem.
When I install this newer extension (newer based on the update date), I don't get any objections from Firefox:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/360-internet-protection/
Could you try that one if you haven't already?
If that's blocked for you, perhaps Firefox's blocklist is out of date. I am not aware of a way to force an update, but if you leave Firefox open for several hours, it should happen; I think it is updated at least once a day. Perhaps another volunteer has a more proactive suggestion.
