10 blank emails dated 12/31/1969 recently appeared in one of my folders. And not in an inbox; it's a folder I created and queue up emails to deal with.
This morning, when I went into a folder I created to do some work, 10 blank emails appeared dated 12/31/1969 7:00 PM. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen and if you have any idea of what could have caused it? Is there cause for alarm?

I've seen various posts about this online: search on the internet for 'blank emails 1969' and you will find plenty. You'll also see that they aren't specifically a Thunderbird problem. Several of the posts are from iPhone users but there are some from Android phone users too. There is speculation that these emails appear when the date of a message cannot be read properly: apparently on some computer systems the date of 12/31/1969 was chosen by programmers to represent 'year zero', i.e the point from when computer time is counted. It's around the time when the microprocessor was invented! None of that helps you, of course, but it suggests that this isn't a cause for alarm. You could try viewing the Message Source to see if you can get any clues?
