The above-linked article is for advanced troubleshooting. To try something simpler first:

Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the following tab:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category

Usually a link will appear above a disabled extension to restart Firefox to complete the process. You can wait until you finish clicking all the Disable buttons before doing the restart.
