Firefox 18.0.1 running on fully updated xP Pro SP3 Mozilla plug-in checker says: Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.110.21 1.7.0.11 Up to Date NPRuntime Script Plug-in Library for Java(TM) Deploy

http://time.gov/timezone.cgi?Pacific/d/-8/java demands "Additional Plugin" I click on Install, the "Plugin Finder Service" window pops up: "Java Runtime Environment 1.7 u10" u10, NOT u11! If I install it anyway, it goes through the motions, "Downloading Java Runtime Environment" - <long delay> then: "No Plugins were installed Java Runtime Environment 1.7 u10 Failed Manual Install"

Mozilla Plugin Checker still says that 7.11 is installed.

(I tried the Manual Install. It gets me to the java.com website: http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp but when I try to download, it sends me to: http://java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp which says that I need a plugin.)

I guess that's called a "strange loop"

hello, in some instances firefox may not be able to detect that the java plugin is installed, because oracle made an error in registering the java plugin for mozilla-based browsers in version 7u10 & 7u11... this will apparently just be fixed with its 7u13 release.

Not a mobile issue.

I'm sorry, didn't know this was a mobile forum. The URL: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/947979#question-reply doesn't give a hint.

the new java 7u13 update that is available at java.com should address the issue (be aware that oracle tries to convince you to install adware - the ask toolbar - during the setup).
