Screenshot of the issue? And did you verify your brightness/contrast was set correctly and also make sure the themes are default to verify it's not a theme issue. If this is custom theme remove them back to default and verify that wasn't the cause.

Do you use one of the built-in themes (System, Light, Dark), or an add-on theme? You can check the current one and experiment with different ones on the Add-ons page: Command+Shift+A, and then click Themes in the left column.

I'm on Windows using a pretty basic theme and the address bar has a white background. When text is selected, the background of selected text is blue. Other themes may vary.
