That is neither a legit Microsoft or FF problem. Your going to sites that have malware laden sites waiting for you to click on their scam links. You should clear your cookies and history to kill those popups. As far as that is a FF issue it's not it's the user themselves going to those sites and getting those problems created.

Hi, if you don't click on anything or call them, you are unlikely to get an infection. If you haven't already, you could try pressing Esc to close it. Also open the 3-bar menu > Options > General > Startup, and deselect 'Restore previous session.'

I would also disable or remove Adblock Plus - 3-bar menu > Add-ons > Extensions, and instead install https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin which has been shown to be effective in blocking things of that type.

WestEnd's answer seems to be don't do that anymore

Scribe seems more in tune. I wasn't worried about being infected and the restore box is not checked. I'm more concerned with Firefox taking me back to the source of the crash withour me asking. I'll try clearing history and cookies and the escape key to unlock. I'll also try that other blocker.
