I need to update my shockwave player from 16.0.0.305 to the latest. However nothing seems to be approved or alternatives presented from you
I need to update my shockwave player from 16.0.0.305 to the latest. However nothing seems to be approved/safe/not blocked by the mozilla flash protected mode. This I am thankful for however I am still left with a browser that isnt able to support any of my gaming. and left with no alternatives presented from you for me to pursue.. Is there any kind of ETA of when there will be a safe update for the adobe flash or shock wave player for mozilla? or an alternative option for me to use in the mean time?

update flash from the adobe site, who still uses shockwave?
hi Preston23, the latest version of flash that you should update to is Flash Player 18.0.0.194 - it fixes various vulnerabilities that are actively exploited in the wild. the update is available at https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html - for firefox please use the windows exe-installer for plugin-based browsers.

Make sure your Java (Not JavaScript) is up to date
Verify Java and Find Out-of-Date Versions {web link}
Version 8 Update 45
None of these Helped resolve the issue what so ever. And Beastmanrules... just... really dude?.. really?
FredMcD I apprieciate your time but you really didnt indicate anything regarding how this plays a role of importance in my issue. how I can use an up to date java to resolving it. or really how it ties into anything. This paired with very little information on what I should be looking for direclty other then just Not Javascript. would be sending me in blind to likely end up updating another trojan by accident. causing more harm then good.
Philipp's response by far is the most comprehensive other then that he sent me alink to download the very same blocklisted adobe Flash Player Plugin 18.0.0.193 that I have been prevented from doing by mozilla in the first place.
The current versions of Flash Player 18 and the 13.0 ESR from https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html are not soft blocked (click to play) by Mozilla
You can get Flash version 18.0.0.209 on this page:
https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
In the first table, look for the row for "plugin-based browsers" and you can use either the EXE or the MSI installer.
To ensure that the old version is removed, please close any tabs that are using Flash, or exit out of Firefox, during the update.
No one can promise that this kind of block will never happen again. Should that occur, this might be helpful...
If you are not accustomed to using the "Ask to Activate" feature with any of your plugins, here's how it works:
When you visit a site that wants to use Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and usually (but not always) one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.
The plugin notification icon in the address bar typically looks like a small, dark gray Lego block. When the page wants to use a soft-blocked plugin, the icon turns red to alert you to the concern.
If you see a good reason to use Flash, and the site looks trustworthy, you can go ahead and click the notification icon in the address bar to allow Flash. You can trust the site for the time being or permanently.
But some pages use Flash only for tracking or playing ads, so if you don't see an immediate need for Flash, feel free to ignore the notification! It will just sit there in case you want to use it later.
