Firefox Quantum, when I open a new page it defaults to Firefox's stupid New Tab page. I want it to open to my homepage, yet I can't find anything in the options menu.

Any help?

hi Squinky, an addon like the following will help you to do it: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/

Thanks I guess. It would be great if this was possible without installing any add-ons.

Not too happy with Firefox at the moment.

This addon requires access to my browsing history and current tabs? No thanks.

the extension's description transparently explains what those are used for.

What did you have set as your homepage before it started to default to the New Tab Page  ? When you have something else set as your homepage, this shouldn't happen. Unless you did have Firefox homepage set as your homepage and just don't like the new look  ? In that case : it can be changed .....

Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promist to be careful, if asked)

Type in the search bar and look for the preferences :

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.aboutHome.enabled and: browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled

and set their values to false

Then close and restart Firefox.
