recipients can't open .pdf attachments I send using Thunderbird
Some, but not all, of multiple recipient messages complain that they cannot open the .pdf attachments I send them using Thunderbird. The problem .pdf's are both one's that I created using the latest Acrobat and/or ones forwarded to me by others and both types open and perform well on my local machine. The problem occurs when I send either from our work server (OX Server) or from my home ISP server (Sendmail Linux).
One recipient sent me a .tiff of their error screen (that wouldn't attach here) and it said that the file had been damaged in transport
I've always had this problem with .pdf's I send to clients that operate Outlook servers which it is/was a known issue (Mac Thunderbird clients can't send attachments to Windows clients via an Outlook server), but now I seem to have the problem with other configs.
Thanks for any help

using google there are loads of posts of people using a mac to send a pdf to other OS and people cannot read the pdf.
Adobe comments seem to insinuate there is no issue, but that it may be a case of creating pdf using eg: up to date Adobe Reader, but the recipient may not be using up to date Adobe Reader to open and read them. They may be using an older version of same product or a different product altogether.
Do you have an Anti-virus product which scans emails you send out? TRy switching off scanning of outgoing emails to rule out any corruption when sending of email.
