Firefox crashes each time I go to some website
Since several weeks, Firefox crash each time I go to some specific websites. This problem started before this last version (20.0). For the others websites, no any problem.
It's websites where you need a login and password to enter : it can crash as soon as I enter my password or later when I write a message to somebody or look to a profile. It's for meninfrance.com for example. Starting in Safe mode doesn't change anything. Works normally with Chromium
I use Ubuntu 64 bits, 12.10 and last Firefox 20.0.

Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Thank you.
I did that already yesterday and Firefox crashed again today in the same situation...
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Sorry, but I wrote in my post : I'm with Linux Ubuntu and not Windows, so malware, I don't know them !!
Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
- You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.
Sorry, but I told in my 1st post that I tried Safe mode and that Firefox crashed in Safe mode : so it's not an extension problem...
Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the Mozilla Plugin Check site.
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions. If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow Update button or a red Update now button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.
I had the last version except for Icedtea. I de-activated it. Same problem... and I think that in "Safe mode" Firefox run without plug-in, and like it crashes as well, it couldn't be that. Thanks
We have the same issue, nothing seems to help. I submitted crash reports but unfortunately no reply yet: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/956723#answer-427566
