When going through the set up, I enter my email address (Xfinity) and my email password. I then get to this part where I have to sign into Comcast/Xfinity. Regardless of how many times I enter my username it will not take it and keeps circling back to the username entry. This is getting very frustrating.

Have you logged on to webmail account and switched on the option to allow third party email clients access to your account? See info at the link below. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/third-party-email-access
