Hi all, Our company that hosts our website is closing its doors. We are having to find a new server company and I'm afraid that we'll lose access to our many years of emails we have stored in Thunderbird. First of all, is that true or will we still have access? The other problem is that we have a REALLY OLD version of Thunderbird that doesn't have the export feature (we purchased this business a couple years ago, I don't think the computer will allow tbird updates). Does anyone know of a way to retain the emails and keep the in depth folder system we have? Thanks in advance!

If the account is POP, you already have the messages on your PC. If the account is IMAP, you can download all folders with File>offline>download (but you will need to verify that all messages downloaded and then exit Thunderbird and do a full backup for safety). The saved IMAP folders can then be reinstated by restoring to Thunderbird's local folder folder. The important thing is to make sure you have all messages saved and then, with thunderbird not running, do a full backup for your protection. I recommend doing at least two full backups.
