Can a FF android recovery key work on a windows device?
I performed a password reset on my windows device for sync. I lost all bookmarks/logins. My android FF still has all bookmarks/logins. If i obtain a recovery key from the android FF, can it also work on my desktop/Windows device?

If you resync by logging into your firefox account on your windows computer it should sync the android bookmarks/passwords
TY evhenry for your response.
There are two different passwords now for sync - because i had to change password on Windows. The android device is still using an old password. I'm guessing logins are individual based on device?
Just today, i do have all logins (they did populate in the logins section)...but the folders with all the bookmarks have not. It's progress! lol. Maybe it just takes time for it to all populate?
At least i have my logins, that was my biggest fear in losing. <3
Hi
The password is for the account, not for the device. Do you log into your Firefox Account using the same email address on both devices?
You would have to login on both devices using the correct password. If you changed the password for the Firefox Account on desktop then you need to logout (disconnect) on the mobile device and reconnect to this Firefox Account using the new password.

Yes i use same email. But, i had to change the password for the windows device/sync, because i couldn't remember the password, hence why i use sync. lol. (i realized too late that i should have gotten a recovery key first).
When i tried to login with password used on Android onto windows sync? i got an error that it was the wrong password. sigh
i know in the future, to get a recovery key...but for now, just trying to recover all bookmarks and logins that are still retained on the android.

Wouldn't it need to be the other way around? logout of windows/sync, and login with android sync password? since that is where the logins and bookmarks are? I may be overanalyzing. my concern is, i will lose the info on the android...
Thanks so much
This is about the password you use to connect to Sync. There is only one valid/correct password to connect to Sync and only that password can be used to connect to Sync.
The password for the Firefox Account is different than other passwords like the master password that you can use to protect passwords in the Firefox Password Manager. The Lockwise app on mobile devices use a Firefox Account and thus needs the Sync account email address and password. So do not get confused with what password you need to use for various Firefox services and Firefox components.
I understand the difference with the accounts...my concern is, if i login with the changed/reset password (which I reset on Windows/sync), if i logout of my android/sync and login with new/reset password, will it wipe the passwords and bookmarks from the android? Since the android still has all the logins/passwords. It's frustrating how i cannot download this information to utilize on another browser....and i have to hunt and peck on my android to get each password i need, to use on windows/ff. sigh...
I'm really disappointed with Firefox because of this. I have been a longtime user of this service...in time, i will be transitioning to another browser, unless i can download my logins/bookmarks/passwords.
I sincerely appreciate all responses....but unless i can assured i don't lose my passwords on my android...i will not be logging in and out with new sync password on my android.

Hi
If you reset your password (as opposed to changing it) your acount information will be cleared, but the data will still be on your desktop or mobile copies of Firefox for you to be able to sync.
If you change it on one device, allow Firefox to sync your data to your account, then log into the second device with the same user credentials, the data will sync across to it.
