import passwords from chrome
I have spent a good while working on getting all my chrome passwords into firefox, with no success. I followed the instructions precisely. There is no checkbox for 'passwords' for me to click on the screen where it is supposed to be. My only options are cookies, browsing history and bookmarks.
I've been trying to find a work around for this, went so far as exporting my Chrome passwords to a CSV file but now can't seem to figure out how to import this into Firefox.
I really like the quantum browser but it isn't useful to me if I don't have my passwords in it, so haven't been using it yet. I'm using a mac at home, windows at work, android for mobile. Chrome works seamlessly across all three platforms, if i can get firefox to do that I may switch.

"I followed the instructions precisely" What instructions. No a CSV does not work. I think you are going to have enter them manually or find a extension here :

The instructions I was referring to were found in the Firefox help menu regarding importing personal data from other browsers. It specifically says that you can import passwords from chrome along with the bookmarks and browser history but this is not the case. Why?
Can passwords from password manager apps like LastPass be imported into Firefox?

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. DO Mac Equivalent Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Sorry, my home computer is a Mac. I do use a PC at work but I don't have admin privileges so I don't think I can do all that. Is there a similar procedure for Mac?
If the Firefox profile migrator isn't able to import the passwords then you are out of luck. If you are able to export the passwords in another browser then at least you have a backup that you can use copy/paste passwords where you need one that isn't stored yet.
SAFE MODE (is a lot messier and more work) (forgot to take windows out)
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:
- all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
- default theme is used (no persona)
- userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
- default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
- Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
- hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
- plugins are not affected
- preferences are not affected
