Firefox crashes on startup suddenly

more options

I was browsing the web on my firefox, and it suddenly crashed. I started it up again, and now my browser crashes if I try to make it load a new page (my navigating to a non-cached page or loading a new profile), it crashes instantly. It's worth noting that I can load local pages (about:newtab, about:support, etc) No updates occurred in the last 2 days to the best of my knowledge.

Most recent Crash report (brand new profile, safe mode): bp-54b2bea6-9dfb-4eba-bda5-5d4c90171209

The Troubleshooting information below is copied from the instance that I can still load, as it starts up with only new tabs loaded.

Sorry to hear about the crashes and thank you for the report IDs. The first 8 reports have one of two signatures. Neither shows reports from earlier versions of Firefox, which is interesting. I'm not sure anyone else is reporting them other than you.

In case, the crash had lingering effects, have you tried shutting down and restarting Windows to see whether that helps with this problem?

If that doesn't help, I would be inclined toward:

Clean Reinstall

We use this name, but it's not about removing your settings, it's about making sure the program files are clean (no inconsistent or alien code files). As described below, this process does not disturb your existing settings. It's not essential to uninstall Firefox, but you can if you like, saying No to any request about removing personal data.

It only takes a few minutes.

(A) Download a fresh installer for Firefox to a convenient location:

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

(B) Exit out of Firefox (if applicable).

(C) Using Windows Explorer/My Computer, rename the program folder as follows (you might have one or both):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox =to=> C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox =to=> C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

(D) Run the installer you downloaded in step (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

Any improvement?
