everytime there is an update you have to search and search on how to remove over half of it because in firefox own words "it just makes sense". it just makes sense because because most of it is redendered useless to the average user and displaces items used like the navigational bar , cant find it under view noreference to it in customizing toolbar. and now thjis useless spaceeating searchbar at the top you cant remove.

Normally Firefox has the address bar on the left end of the main navigation toolbar, and the search bar on the right end. It sounds as though there is a problem with your setup, but I'm having trouble picturing it. Could you capture a screen shot and attach it to a reply? If the unwanted search bar has sort of a 4-color pinwheel icon at the left, check whether you have the Default Tab extension. Open the Add-ons page, using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Perhaps a good time to review, disable, or remove any unrecognized or suspicious extensions.

Usually a link to restart Firefox will appear above at least one extension you've set to disable/remove. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Does that dump the extra search bar?
