What is 'offline' device in 'cache'?

FRACK! -- tried to change category, and it wiped my details and troubleshooting info (about 1K of typing!) So will restate, but without as many details.

Firefox's cache shows (in 'cacheviewer'

extension) 3 possible locations:

memory, disk and 'offline' (don't usually have anything in 'disk' due to my settings, FWIW).

What is 'offline' in relation to the cache?

How do I get rid of them (I can delete them from the viewer page, but they come back leaving the viewer page and restarting it).

The offline cache is a special cache that applications can use to store data on the computer.

I found it odd that clearing the cache didn't delete these entries, but I see on the page you reference that there are multiple bugs filed against this feature for exactly that -- normal cache clearing procedures don't work.

It does provide a cumbersome and awkward workaround which is fine for a few websites (I only had 1), but would be a pain for for 'many' websites (as they must all be done individually, and just like Windows, it asks 'are you really sure' on each one of them!...

Do not confuse the offline cache with DOM storage.
