I have only one profile. When I open Thunderbird the profile selection window comes up. "Use the selected profile without asking at startup" is checked, but every time I have to tell Thunderbird to use the selected profile. Is this a known bug? or is there something else gone astray? This has been taking place for quite a while now. If my memory is correct it began after I had to rename my user profile.

Just something to check: If you start Thunderbird from a desktop icon, right-click to see if you had set a "-p" parameter that invokes profile manager.

Thanks David. I don't know how the "-p" got there, but removing solved that minor problem
