Firefox updated on 11 Jan and since then it crashes constantly. I've tried the various solutions suggested on the web, but it has made no difference. Other browsers are working without a problem.

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
  2. In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
  3. From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
  4. Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
  5. Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  6. Paste each ID into the reply window on the forums.

Thanks in advance!

You can find more information and troubleshooting steps in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

So unfortunately all but one of those crash ID's are empty, so we will have to do a shotgun approach to fix this.

First, scan for Malware on your PC. Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware

Then, Reset Firefox. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Do either of these steps help?

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

I had previously tried disabling hardware acceleration, but that didn't help.

I scanned for malware and found none and reset Firefox. I think I've narrowed down the problem to either the Evernote Clipper or Sticky Password Autofill plugins which is a pity because I use both of them a lot.

I guess I'll have to switch to another browser until as and when they're updated.

Similar issues since last update. It seems as if Firefox is eating crazy amount of memory, lags horribly and my mouse pointer "sticks." If I'm listening to Pandora and open a new tab, load a page, Pandora skips and eventually stops til new tab loads. Did not have this issue prior to update, ran very smooth. I've reset Firefox, checked for malware, etc. but the browser is unusable. It a shame, to think I might have to go back to IExplorer, yikes!

Here's my list of crashes:

Corey, Please try the troubleshooting steps in this thread, and if they fail then please start a new thread. Your crashes are different than the ones listed here.

You can see by the consistent crashes that that would be annoying though???, alright I just tried the reset Firefox, so I'll cross my fingers now...

Well, that didn't work, just crashed again....Guess I'll try something else...
