CSS not working for self published website
My problem is strange. I have the latest version of Firefox, all of my add-ons are up to date, and for all published websites it seems to work perfectly. My problem is that I am handwriting a lot of HTML, CSS, and scripts for a masters class I am taking in college, and when I load those pages, Firefox seems to ignore the CSS formatting, and all other formatting as well. I have been all up and down the forums trying to find an answer, but none have worked. Everything from clearing the cache (offline), removing all cookies and history, removing themes, and running in safe mode. In safe mode it works better, but still not complete. I have been using Internet Explorer in Firefox's absence, and the formatting appears there fine. Hopefully you will be able to direct me, I'm a die hard Firefox fan, and I miss my browser! Much Mahalos for your time.
Aloha, Brad

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
- Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
- Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Can you post a link?
Do you see any error messages in the Firefox/Tools > Web Developer > Error Console (Shift+CtrL+J) relating to this issue?
Aloha and thank you for the quick reply! I unfortunately have tried the Reload web page and bypassing the cache and got no where. I did, however, check the error console under the Web Developer and found some very strange errors. I'll post them here, perhaps you guys can make sense of them.

The last error may be the problem, because that causes Firefox to skip al other CSS rules.
Found unclosed string "s Home Page</title>'. Unexpected end of file while searching for closing } or invalid rule set.
Do you see any red text in the page source?
- Firefox > Web Developer > Page Source
- Tools > Web Developer > Page Source (Ctrl+U)
The HTML5 parser used in Firefox 8 is far more stricter with simple errors than the parser used in previous Firefox versions.
Thanks again cor-el! I searched the page source using the Web Developer > Page Source, but there was no red to be found anywhere :( I was really hoping to see some actually. This is getting stranger and stranger. I appreciate you helping me through this.
P.S. I submitted my work to my professor and asked her to open it in her Firefox. She just reported to me that it opened perfectly fine on hers. Even stranger yet.

You did try to clear the cache?
Does your professor use the same Firefox version as you do?
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Sorry it took me a bit to get back with you cor-el. Holidays...Anyway, I tried your suggestions, I cleared the cache again just in case, but I know I did it several times before trying to fix this problem. No luck. I also tried the safe mode, which is a first, but unfortunately everything remained the same. I disabled themes and the addons separately as well, but no luck there either. My professor also runs the same version of Firefox as I, which is the latest update. Thanks again for your help!
