I have never installed firefox before, but when I try to install it on Windows Vista it asks me to create an association in the Set Associations control panel. I know how to access that and I know how to change default programs, but how can I change the association when I've never installed the program before. I doesn't come up on the list. I've looked though a bunch of webpages and all it says is for me to change the association to firefox...but how can I do that if I've never installed it? I tried installing older versions, saving the file....but I get the same message. Nothing works. What do I do??

Hello artsoul94...I have vista & FFox13 & had some issues with sites also, so now I only download new versions of Firefox from cnet.co.uk. & it works everytime, I turn updates to always ask, never automatic, and always do a clean install new version once a year.If you have then...cnet have a really good forum. None of the experts have answered yet...so have a go &best of luck.

Installing other versions doesn't help.

Now I know why I have that error. After reading and reading and READING through a bunch of nonsense online I fiiiiiiiiiiiinally found out what's going on.

My registry is corrupted. Somehow a virus currupted it and does not allow me to run .exe programs. I've read warnings on being extremely careful when trying to fix this since it can make your computer inoperable. Well it SUCKS but I'm not going to attempt fixing it myself since I really don't know if any of the BS online is for real. I'm just going to wait to get it fixed by a professional. I'm in no hurry to install anything right now.

Thanks anyway liamo77 for trying to help.
