Mozilla makes more money from you using Google searches than you using the Microsoft search. Getting rid of Bing as your primary search engine, and from your location bar has so far been relatively easy. Microsoft made a mistake and Mozilla was asked (maybe with some coaxing) to add the Bing toolbar to the Add-ons "Blocklist". To be having problems at this time would seem to mean that you have turned off or least don;'t have some security in Firefox turned on.
