Quite often Firefox stops responding to mouse clicks. The only way to continue using firefox is to launch windows task manager, then minimize it, this will only allow one or two further actions on firefox before it again won't respond to mouse clicks, and you have to go into and out of task manager again. The problem comes and goes randomly, but happens at least once every day. The mouse is from Dell, is quite new and there is no similar issue with any other application on the PC.

This happened

A few times a week

== a few months ago, I think I had it even before upgrading to 3.6

I have experienced this problem exactly as the OP has described. I have to open task manager to temporarily restore Firefox functionality.

Also, my sister bought a new HP PC about a month ago. I intalled Firefox on it, and she also sees this problem.

I've been forced to go back to IE (which does not have this problem) until Firefox can sort this out, which hopefully will be soon.

My problem is similar - maybe not identical. Mouse works initially, but after 1-2 clicks stops working and only keyboard tabbing or use of page down will get page to move. When I minimize the window and go back to the desktop and right click on it - then click refresh - go back to firefox, mouse works again briefly. Then same scenario takes place. I really don't want to start having to use IE again -- but having to minimize, right click, refresh, return to firefox whenever I want to do ANYTHING is a pain. This is only happening in firefox. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I have XP installed, sp3. Please fix this issue -- it is not the mouse!

Had the same problem following an upgrade to version 4. Tried to uninstall and reload older version but had same problem. Found that some sort of app by E-music was included in the download (dont know where it came from) and eliminated it. Downloaded older version and tried again- Fixed! Fixed by doing the following: Uninstall Version 4; Download Version 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html  ; Go to programs from the start menu; Open Mozilla Firefox; Select Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode); When the browser opens go to Tools; Select Add-Ons; Select and Uninstall the E-Music app; Select restart Firefox

Here is my website - http://www.parapentemx.com

The box in the upper left of the index page are the links to the other pages of my website, and my mozilla browser does not operate them, but my IE browser does. Does your mozilla browser operate those buttons?

Here is a possible clue. It is interesting that the buttons work on my other pages with Firefox, such as http://www.parapentemx.com/contacto.html , but only the link buttons in the INDEX page do not work, although the html for the buttons on the index page is identical to the code in the other pages.

Is there perhaps something that I could correct in the html code of my web site?

Naturally I am very concerned about this because my livelyhood depends upon it. It is not enough that I can make my mozilla browser be compatable with my site, I need to know that other people on their mozilla browsers do not have the same problem.

Looks like Mozilla ain't real hot on product service or quality. I hate to badmouth anyone but you got to do what you got to do. Business is business.

Strangely enough, plugging in a mouse that has a scroll wheel and clicking the scroll wheel/middle button seems to have, at least for now, fixed the problem!
