Bing is loading before my Homepage. How can I get rid of Bing?
Just today Bing began to load when I started FireFox before my homepage. I've looked around for Bing on my computer and can't find it. What did I do today you ask...well I did load two programs...which I have since removed. Still stuck with Bing. I've checked add-ons and extensions, looked for anything new in the programs list on the control panel... I'm stuck here folks....Help!....Please.

Does the same unwanted page appear when you open a new window (Ctrl+n) or click the Home icon or press Alt+Home on the keyboard?
If Yes:
- Double-check that your home page setting has changed. These articles describe the steps for that:
- If your home page setting is correct, one of your extensions may be overriding your setting. Open the Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable, or if obvoiusly bad, remove. Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
If No:
If the problem only occurs when using your Firefox shortcut/icon, it could be hacked. Right-click it > Properties > Shortcut tab. The "Target" for 32-bit Windows 7 should be this (no more, no less):
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
If anything else following that, try removing it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "before" your home page. Do you get two tabs, one for Bing and one for your home page, or do you get two separate windows?
Thanks for your quick reply...sorry, I didn't provide that information.... Just one tab at start-up.

Good evening...sigh, the shortcut was hacked...however, now that I've fixed the shortcut I get an authorization window each time I try to start FireFox.... Where did I goof?
Regardless, Thank-you very much for your insight and willingness to share.
What does the authorization window ask you?
Sorry for the late reply... Something like, Do want to allow this program to make changes to your computer...
Then I realized that I had to fix the shortcut path as an administrator and had not unchecked the administrator box...after that things went well...
btw, my IE shortcut had the same problem,,,same fix.
I really am grateful for your help.
