I cannot download ADOBE Flash. The error message is FAILED from Firefox. The other error message is "CANNOT CONFIGURE APPLICATION." Any suggestions?

Exact error message indicates; "UNABLE to LOAD APPLICATION CONFIGURATION."
Are you closing Firefox before trying to run the Adobe installer?
I am closing the browser. The same message appears using IE as well.

You can try to run the Flash installer as Administrator.

I downloaded the versions you guys suggested off-line and all seems normal, if that is possible on the internet. I did notice the PLUG-IN was missing during the time I was trying to remedy the problem and now the PLUG-in is visible and activated to load on start up of the browser.
I really appreciate you guys sharing the information and taking time out to respond.
