When did this start? Which version of Firefox?

For reference, Firefox 23.0 was released on Tuesday, August 6th, and Firefox 23.0.1 was just released on Friday, August 16th.

Does the address bar work normally in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

If Firefox is running, you can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

If Firefox is not running, hold the Shift key when starting Firefox to get the Safe Mode dialog.

Any difference?
