I don't want v.3 and need to uninstall it. Where can I find Firefox v.2 to download?

I have an Intel iMac, running Firefox v.3.6.28. I want to dump this version and go back to the earlier version which allowed me to bookmark internet pages.

Please advise on how I can dump the version I have and where I can download the earlier (and more user-friendly) earlier version.

Thanks

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

You can also try to repair the places database with this extension:

Hi cor-el

Thanks for getting back to me with this answer.

In the time since I sent the email, I googled the problems that I was having, and came across an article which informed me that Mozilla were no longer supporting Firefox on Mac OS X 10.4.11 from April 2012. On this basis, I uninstalled version 3.6.28 from my computer.

While googling, I also found a download link for Firefox version 2, which I downloaded - it just kept crashing after about 2 minutes each time I opened (and re-opened) it, so I uninstalled that version as well.

It appears that the program doesn't like playing nicely with my Mac, and tech support is about to be withdrawn by the developers, therefore I have re-installed Safari - which has it's own quirks, but it does bookmark pages, which I desperately need.

I am sorry for wasting the time of yourself and other members of the community. I should have done my googling before I asked the question.

Thanking you for your support and patience. It is very much appreciated.

Regards Rosie
